KAEC concludes its first career fair providing 1000 job opportunities for Saudis CADRES
Successful event attracted more than 20,000 applicants in 24 hours
King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) successfully concluded its first Career Fair, which was held at the Bay La Sun Hotel and Marina lately. The three-day event included the participation of the Economic Cities Authority and the Human Resources Development Fund, as well as 25 entities and companies from various industries in the city providing more than 1,000 job opportunities. The Career Fair first day was witnessed by Mr. Fahd Al-Rasheed, KAEC Group CEO and Managing Director, and Dr. Mansour Al-Mansour, Deputy General Manager of Employment Support Programs in the Human Resources Development Fund.
Commenting, Mr. Fahd Al-Rasheed in this occasion, said: “We are delighted at the great success we have achieved with our first Career Fair, which received an overwhelming response from job seekers looking for promising career opportunities in KAEC. The event was organized within the context of KAEC’s vision to provide young Saudi male and female cadres with employment opportunities, where we also offer housing solutions that suit all income levels. “Also, we are very pleased the Career Fair was supported by 25 companies that have invested in establishing operations in KAEC due to the unique combination of the state-of-the-art infrastructure, world class services and unrivalled transportation facilities.”
Adding his comments, Mr. Fahd Hamidaddin, Chief Marketing Officer in KAEC, stated: “The complete success of the first KAEC Career Fair was evident on the faces of the applicants. The response exceeded our highest expectations, with no less that 20,000 job applicants registering on the website during the first 24 hours following the launch. As a result, we added a third day to what was originally planned as a two-day event. The first day was dedicated to female job seekers and more than 1600 young Saudi women attended the Career Fair. In total, the number of attendees exceeded 5,000 young men and women.”
During the Career Fair, one of the applicants, Mohammed Sharif, who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources from King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, stated: “We were very impressed at the way in which the Career Fair was so well organized and the large number of big national and international companies that participated in the fair. That was a strong motivation for all attendees to visit all booths and submit their CVs to every company.”
Also speaking at the event, Sundus Oufi, a graduate with a Master’s Degree from the University of London, stated: “I was very pleased to have this opportunity to learn more about KAEC also apply for different job opportunities.”
